Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering

Gain the knowledge and skills to practice in increasingly complex and integrated electrical systems with diverse applications in computer networking, communication, energy, signal processing, control systems and semiconductors. A distinctive aspect of the program is its emphasis on Cyber Physical Systems as a unifying framework in order for the next generation of Ph.D. graduates to be responsive to the rapid pace of technological innovations in artificial intelligence, sensors, biomedical, health care, alternative energy, and autonomous vehicles.

Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering

Learn quantitative and qualitative research methods and tools to identify, model, analyze, and prescribe novel solutions to complex engineering problems observed in private and public businesses. A distinctive feature of the program is that it emphasizes transportation distribution and logistics, which is one of the six industries targeted for growth by the Illinois Department of Commerce.
