The health care industry is expanding. The technology used to develop medical devices and improve the quality of patient care is evolving. Our Biomedical Engineering program will prepare you to meet the demands of the health care industry. You'll learn how to combine engineering principles with biology and chemistry to develop innovative health care technologies.
There are two tracks you can follow:
When you graduate, you'll be ready for a career designing medical equipment or systems, or researching new procedures. Biomedical engineers are sought-after in many areas, including higher education, research facilities and the U.S. military.
Your major requirements will include a range of engineering classes. You'll also take courses in biology, chemistry, math and other areas. Additional requirements will vary depending on the track you choose.
