Costs and Options for Texts, etc.

Textbook costs have been increasing at a steady pace over the last several years, but publishers have been packaging  "add ons" as incentives for new text book sales.

The same textbook is  used for both P210 (first semester) and P211 (second semester) to keep costs down. Additionally, the publisher (McGraw Hill) has bundled two semester coupons for both the CPS clicker course charge and the WebAssign homework system at a much reduced cost.

Following are ESTIMATES of student costs for BOTH P210 and P211 (added together):

Assumptions:

  • Both new and used textbooks are sold back to the bookstore for $80
  • CPS clicker is sold back for $10 (original cost is $20)
  • P211 costs include a $12 charge for a Lab Manual
  • 2 semester cost for CPS course fee (not clicker cost) and WebAssign is included in NEW textbook cost
  • The CPS course fee and WebAssign fees are in addition to the USED textbook cost
  • Taxes are not included

New Textbook 2 semester estimated cost: $112

Used Textbook 2 semester estimated cost: $118

Digitatl Textbook 2 semester estimated cost: $158
