Welcome to my home on the web. I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Northern Illinois University. My primary research interest is on political institutions, urban environments and consumer preferences and how their interactions and resulting policies and institutions impact the location and development of residential spaces and the welfare of those residing in those spaces. Current research topics include the impact of Residential Community Associations (also known as Homeowners Associations) on home values and local politics and how property taxes impact various aspects of residential development and public good demand.
