philosophy 322: modern philosophy

An upper-level survey of European and British philosophy in the 17th and 18th centuries. Authors discussed include Descartes, Malebranche, Spinoza, Leibniz, Locke, Berkeley, Hume, Reid, and Kant. Topics include the nature of matter, the existence of God, the relationship between mind and body, freedom of the will, idealism, and skepticism.
