NIU's School of Music is where many outstanding musicians make the transition from student to teacher and performer. Former clarinet students are teaching in public schools and pursuing advanced degrees at schools such as Yale University and Curtis Institute of Music.
Students in the NIU Clarinet Studio have a weekly individual lesson and participate in studio classes. Throughout each semester Woodwind Area Convocations provide performance opportunities.
See School of Music Ensembles for other performing opportunities.
Outstanding guest artists come to perform and teach each year. See the list of previous artists.
Every winter the NIU Clarinet Studio hosts the Clarinet Cornucopia.
