HopeLine®  Project

Victim Advocacy Services and the Women’s Resource Center are supporting Verizon Wireless in its efforts to empower survivors of domestic violence. HopeLine® by Verizon puts the nation’s most reliable network to work in our community by turning no-longer-used cell phones into support for domestic violence victims and survivors. A cell phone can serve as a vital link to emergency or support services in a time of crisis or as a reliable, safe connection to employers, family, and friends as survivors rebuild their lives.  Please drop off your old cell phones, batteries, and/or chargers at the Women’s Resource Center during business hours, or call the Women’s Resource Center at 815-753-0320.  Every Friday will be a pick-up day across campus.

Project Prom

Collecting clothes now through April

Event April 1-30

Women’s Resource Center

8:00 a.m – 4:30 p.m. weekdays

Did your prom or formal dress only get one wear? Did you only wear that tie or tuxedo once? Well here’s your chance to give that glamorous gown another use and put that dancing tuxedo suit out on the dance floor again! We want to be sure that every girl has a chance to go to prom in a dress that makes her feel beautiful, and that every guy has a suit that stands out in a crowd-- and you can help by donating your old prom dress or tuxedo/suit or tie! The Women’s Resource Center will accept gently used prom, formal, or wedding style dresses and suits from now until April.  These items will be available for students to choose from during the month of April. If you have donations you would like to bring, please stop in at the Women’s Resource Center.
