Navigation Rearchitecture

One of the most important parts of retooling any website is analyzing and reconfiguring the navigation on a department's existing site to make it easier for users to find the information they are seeking.

Steps:

  1. Analyze the web logs to form some conclusions about visitors and what they are looking for.
  2. Evaluate existing navigation and links on each of the pages on your site.
  3. Create new audience and left-navigation categories for the site.
  4. Sort the existing links from your site into the new navigation categories.
