Content Migration

Once the website inventory is complete, the content can be transferred from the existing site to the new templates.

Steps include:

• Print out a copy of your old site. Make note of where each section of content was moved to on the new templates or your reason for not moving it
• Edit existing content for relevance and accuracy
• Create new content

Page Configuration

After the content has been loaded into the Web Presence templates, different layouts can be applied to include text and images into the content area.

The Web Team has established a shared photo repository in the NIUDefault\stockimages directory. These images are available for use by anyone using the Web Presence templates.

Writing for the Web

• Use headings
• Use lists
• "Chunk" information
• Label links clearly
• Use progressive disclosure
