Goals

The NIU Web Presence Project will create, improve and maintain each of the following:

  1. Look and Feel (branding/image)
  2. Navigation / Search Engine Presence
  3. Standards / Rules / Policies / Guidelines
  4. Content Management
  5. Sustainability/Support

Mission

  • Create an effective, accessible and sustainable web presence for NIU’s most visible and widely accessed websites that communicates NIU’s brand and serves as a model for eventual adoption by the entire campus.
  • Use process to create web standards and develop practices that both support those standards and help the rest of campus comply with same.
  • Integrate needs and requirements of NIU-developed and/or vendor-supplied portals to the maximum extent possible.
