Distributed Learning

The Vision 2020 Grant program has set aside about $800,000 to “seed” a viable and comprehensive DL delivery model for NIU. These monies are available for either the

• NIU home-grown DL model, or
• A model provided by a private online delivery firm with a “turn-key” revenue-sharing approach

The Vision 2020 Plan projected 81,250 student credit hours through a comprehensive distributed learning system by 2020.

NIU’s DL offerings currently generate about 16,000 student credit hours from about 13 programs.
