Use of Video Conferencing Rooms for Credit Courses

On-Campus Credit Courses

On-campus credit courses can reserve the video conferencing equipment in Gabel Hall, the Family Health, Wellness and Literacy Center (FHWLC) and the Music Building FREE OF CHARGE during regular business hours. For use in the evenings (Monday-Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m.), preference will be given to courses with off-campus sections. For other times, the equipment can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Off-Campus Credit Courses

Off-campus credit courses in the following colleges can use the video conferencing equipment FREE OF CHARGE on a first-come, first-served basis on campus and at the NIU Outreach Centers during regular business hours. Courses in these colleges are covered by the Outreach Delivery Fee:

  • College of Education
  • College of Engineering & Engineering Technology
  • College of Health & Human Sciences
  • College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
  • College of Visual & Performing Arts

No hourly equipment charges apply.

Off-campus credit courses in the College of Business and the Department of Computer Science pay the NIU-discounted room rate. These courses are not subject to the Outreach Delivery Fee.
