Inspired by Steppenwolf Garage Theatre in Chicago, Northern Lights showcases “the work of the best new voices in the American theater,” and will feature NIU alumni who have created their own companies, performing original and favorite works. This production is a unique opportunity for both audience and fledging theatre companies­—the audience sees artists in the early stages of their professional lives, and performances will provide the companies greater exposure, better technical support, and the ability to perform in larger and more com-prehensive facilities than they would receive with venues they could actually afford at this point in their careers.
