by Tom Stoppard
The Real Inspector Hound, written by Tom Stoppard, is a one-act play-within-a-play which parodies stereotypical parlor mysteries, such as Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. The farcical plot follows two theatre critics, Moon and Birdboot, who are watching an absurd setup of a classic “whodunit.” But by a twist of fate, they become involved in the action, causing a series of events that parallel the play.
