The area of theatre technology provides an individually planned curriculum allowing students to prepare for careers in technical direction and scene technology. In addition to the technology studio, an individualized study focuses on appropriate craft and management areas.
The theatre technology area is prepared to offer professional study in project and production management, flying and rigging, scene construction and shop management among other subjects.
The offerings of the school may be further supplemented with additional course work from the School of Art, the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, or other areas of the university.
Many career opportunities are available in the technical management and craft areas including the positions of technical director, production manager, shop or construction manager, rigging specialist, and road manager.
