Costume Design

The area of costume design focuses on the creative process in interpreting, through a visual, threedimensional medium, the production objectives of a given dramatic, musical, or dance work.

Instruction in general and advanced design each semester is supplemented with work in theatre history, period styles, drawing and painting, as well as advanced skills in costume technology including fl at patterning, draping, millinery, accessories, and fabric modification.

Opportunities for design and the practical application of craft techniques are provided both on and off campus in preparation for employment in the professional theatre.
