Ryan teaches voice, movement, and acting in the School of Theatre and Dance at Northern Illinois University. He trained in the physical work of Lloyd Williamson and Michael Chekhov as well as the Fitzmaurice Voice Technique. He is an ATME member and is currently seeking certification in a number of movement/voice pedagogies.

Ryan holds an M.F.A. in Acting from Northern Illinois University and a B.F.A. in Theatre with an emphasis on Directing and Acting from Abilene Christian University. He studied internationally at The Moscow Art Theatre where he earned a certificate in Russian Scenography and Performance. Before returning to his alma mater Ryan served as Director and Voice/Movement Instructor for The Gately/Poole Conservatory. He’s worked as an adjunct professor for various academic institutions.

In addition to his teaching Ryan is a member of the Organic Theatre Company operating in Chicago. He has also served Northern Illinois University as MC for fundraising events, industrials and media marketing.
