Mr. Booth has a diverse background in journalism, mechanics, organizational development, corporate training and law enforcement. He has held positions with the Naperville Police Department as crime scene technician and forensics imaging specialist, with a leading Midwest electronics firm as a customer service manager, and with NIU Motorcycle Safety Project as a nationally certified trainer.
He is an active participant in and proponent of the development and continuing growth of community theatres and the School of Theatre and Dance representative member of the American Association of Community Theaters. He has been associated with Vince Carney Community Theatre in Rochelle, Illinois, and with DeKalb’s Stage Coach Players community theatre organization since 1989, where he has served at various times as vice president and board member and as director, actor, set designer and builder, publicist, event planner, house manager and fundraiser.
He has appeared in, or directed, numerous community theatre productions, sometimes directing one production and appearing in two more in a single summer season. Most recently, he has conducted staged readings for new plays and workshops for actors.
He occasionally dabbles in local movie shoots as an extra and was bumped to actor status for a scene with Tom Wilkenson and Jessica Lange for the HBO movie, Normal. Mr. Booth has been the school's marketing director since 1997.
