CALL FOR PAPERS
The Ninth International Conference on Thai Studies will embrace
a broad definition of Thai Studies to include studies of all ethnic groups within
the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as Thai/Tai peoples of Southeast Asia, India
and China. Proposals for papers, presentations, panels and roundtables from
all disciplines and intellectual perspectives are welcome as are considerations
of all themes and topics from previous international Thai studies conferences.

Procedures and Timelines
- Please submit proposals in English before November
30, 2004.
- To submit proposals electronically, send preferably a Microsoft
Word file (document) in an email as an attachment to thaiconf@niu.edu.
- To submit proposals by mail, send preferably a Microsoft
Word file (document) on a diskette along with a printed copy to

- The Program Committee will review proposals and send an
acceptance letter with scheduling information and with instructions for submitting
final abstract statements and full versions of papers.
- Abstracts of panels, roundtables and individual papers
and full versions of conference papers will be collected for distribution
at the conference. These final versions of abstracts and papers must be submitted
by March 1 , 2005
to assure distribution at the conference.
