Credit by Examination (CBE) Brochure - This document presents an an overview of NIU’s Credit by Examination program and includes important information about the Advanced Placement Program, the College-Level Examination Program, the DANTES Subject Standardized Tests Program, International Baccalaureate Program, and NIU proficiency examinations.
Nursing Applicants - Nursing applicants must successfully achieve a reading comprehension score that is in compliance with the School of Nursing’s standard. Applicants with an ACT Reading Score of 24 or higher are considered to be in compliance with this standard. Applicants with an ACT Reading Score of less than 24 may take the ACCUPLACER Reading Comprehension Exam. It is the policy of the School of Nursing that students may take this exam twice with no minimum interval between administrations. If a student takes the exam more than twice, only test scores from their first two administrations will be used in making admissions decisions.
