Anyone who has ever stood on a street corner as a bus passed by knows that diesel powered vehicles generate a lot of heat and exhaust gasses which can harm the environment. A team of NIU researchers is exploring ways to reduce those emissions, testing various alternative fuels and different cooling fluids, including drag reducing nano-fluids, which incorporate nano-particles to better draw away heat, specially designed by the team.
