Department of History

Are you interested in how past attitudes and actions affect the present environment and play a role in the future of our planet? Our environmental history class will complement your environmental course of study. This course focuses on the history of ecosystems in America including agriculture, conservation and environmental movements. The course is available for general education credit, so you don't need to be a history major to register.

Our faculty research topics in global environmental history, local agriculture, wildlife use and political ecology.
