New in 2013

NIU's departments and colleges are always adding new camps to their line up of popular favorites like Speech, Athletics, and Engineering Amusement. Check out some of the exciting new camps we're offering in 2013.

  • The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences External Programming will offer several new camps in 2013.
    • Archaeology - August 5-9: Campers entering grades 6-8 will learn artifact identification, archaeological drawing, excavation, and mapping as well as museum procedures such as object handling and cataloging. Campers will work with real archaeological materials, such as projectile points and pottery.
    • GSA Camp: LGBTQA Leadership and Activism - July 7-12, 2013:  Campers entering grades 9-12 will learn how to lead, organize, and make a difference in their social, local, and global communities.
    • Journalism Camp:  Campers entering grades 9-12 will work with experienced journalists and learn how to write and edit professional journalistic articles.
    • Math Camp:  Campers entering grades 9-12 will experince the stunning spectrum of mathematics from algebra to calculus and beyond.
