Children in Need
Give Kids the World Village--Kissimmee, FL

Give Kids The World is a non-profit organization that exists only to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to the Central Florida attractions, and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need.

Over 111,000 children have had their dream come true at Give Kids The World. No child in need has ever been turned away – and no child ever will. Give Kids The World is a place where families find joy, laughter, serenity, and a lifetime of memories. Through the tireless support of our volunteers, employees and generous partners, we dedicate each and every day to these special families.


Environmental Preservation
Community Collaborations--Niceville, FL

The BP oil spill exposed the need for extra attention to this area of the country. Volunteers will find themselves in projects that will reinforce the shoreline as well as other potential projects that impact these coastline communities. Be prepared to be outside and get dirty!


Hunger & Homelessness (Urban)
Youth Service Organization Project--Washington, D.C.

Nearly 1 out of every 5 residents in Washington, D.C. live below the poverty line. This can result in extreme hunger or even homelessness. There are over 6500 homeless people who are homeless in Washington, D.C. alone. This week, ASB participants will work with YSOP, an organization that sends groups of volunteers to food banks, soup kitchens, and even drop-in shelters.


At-Risk Youth (Urban) **NEW**
United Way of Northern New Jersey & Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark--Newark, NJ

Children throughout the city of Newark, New Jersey are struggling to gain to the knowledge and skills  they need to enter school ready to succeed and they need YOUR HELP! Join them for as mentors, tutors, and support for the children who need it most! ASB participants will work directly with children in different after-school settings.  Participants will assist in the development and implementation of an educational, enriching and child-centered curriculum in a variety of programming areas. Additionally, you will get the chance to participate in other service projects (inside & outside) aimed at increasing the capacity of community-based agencies throughout Newark.
