Orange Bowl Student Bus Trip Information

Updated 12/28/12

We are thrilled that Northern Illinois University is headed to the 2013 Discover Orange Bowl!  Thousands of NIU students have registered for their free bowl game football tickets, and approximately 1,300 students will join our charter bus caravan to Florida. We trust that you will be an exemplary ambassador of NIU while in South Florida and that you will role model great sportsmanship. Remember that NIU holds you accountable to the Student Code of Conduct while participating in this event.

You should have received an email on Friday, December 21st with information regarding your departure time, bus and hotel assignments, and prohibited items.  If you have not received this email, please email studentinvolvement@niu.edu to request your trip details.

Transactions may signal fraud alert systems, especially during the holidays.

Items to Consider

We ask that you begin conversations with your friends and family regarding your upcoming travel plans. Consider the following for a safer and more pleasant bowl experience:

  • What will you do to be safe?
  • How much money are you planning to spend?
  • Who are your travel companions? Are you going to implement the buddy system with each person?
  • What is this person’s contact information so your family members can get a hold of her/him if they cannot connect with you?
  • What is the contact information for the hotel(s) where you will be staying?
