NIU Cares Day is a campus-wide day of community service. Volunteers comprised of NIU students, faculty, and staff come together once a year to complete projects that benefit DeKalb County’s not-for-profit organizations and community agencies as a way of thanking the community for their support of the institution and its mission. NIU volunteers are transported to locations around the county to spend the day planting, painting, cleaning, sorting, assisting with events, and various other tasks.
**All five team leader orientations have been completed and we are unable to add any new teams at this point. Please register as an individual with 'Team - NIU Cares' if your team is not available and you still wish to participate**
Online registration will be available until Friday, March 28, 2014.
Students can register as individuals (register for Team-NIU Cares) or as part of a team.
Does your agency, organization, or home need volunteers to complete projects? Registration is moving to an online form for the 2014 event. Please fill out the Job Site Request Form below to be considered as a Project Site. For more information on eligibility requirements, please click here.
*Note that campus initiatives that organize campus volunteers (mainly students) to perform a variety of service projects throughout the greater DeKalb Community cannot host project sites that are private property of Northern Illinois University faculty, staff, or students.
