Welcome Days
The planning committee for Welcome Days is happy to announce a new and improved schedule of events for Fall 2012. The first week of Welcome Days: Thursday, August 23 – Sunday, August 26 will include a more concentrated agenda of specific programs and activities for new students. We hope to streamline the schedule in the hopes of higher levels of student participation before the semester begins.
If you represent a department, student organization or community agency that wishes to contribute to the extended Welcome Days calendar including a fuller selection of events (Monday, August 27 – Monday, September 3) please fill out the attached form for consideration. Bark 'til Dark
We are excited to introduce a new programming initiative at Northern called Bark ‘til Dark. Bark ‘til Dark is a series of weekend events for the entire campus including programming on the first five Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays of the Fall semester (2012).
Bark ‘til Dark offers fun and entertaining late night, weekend activities by providing on-campus programs, movies, interactive games, comedy, and other social events for all NIU students that are FREE or low cost. Students attending Bark ‘til Dark will meet other Huskies, learn about involvement opportunities, and most importantly have fun! The primary organizations and departments sponsoring this new initiative are the Campus Activities Board (CAB), the Residence Hall Association (RHA), the Student Association (SA), and Student Involvement & Leadership Development (SILD). A schedule of events will be available in the near future. Get ready for Bark ‘til Dark – you won’t want to leave campus!
