"Working as a graduate assistant for Health Enhancement in the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management has been an enjoyable and eye-opening experience. Through Health Enhancement, I have been given the opportunity to participate in program creation and program evaluation, as well as the opportunity to interact with students one-on-one. These opportunities without a doubt have been very instrumental in helping me further develop professionally as well as personally."
-Whitney Davis, Adult & Higher Education. Graduate Assistant, Health Enhancement
"My graduate assistantship has opened the door to so many great experiences. I have been able to enhance the skills I learned as a community advisor and also learned many new skills. In addition, I have had the opportunity to network within the field of student affairs and have been introduced to new professional opportunities. The professional development opportunities I have been exposed to, such as GLACUHO and opportunities on campus, have been amazing! I have built some of the closest relationships I have ever had and continue to build new ones each day."
-Alex Pitner, Adult & Higher Education. Graduate Assistant, Housing & Dining
"I have greatly enjoyed being a graduate assistant for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management! From running events for 1000+ people to joining various committees, I am given meaningful work that influences the entire campus. My favorite part about being a GA has been working with the professionals at Student Involvement & Leadership Development and the Counseling & Student Development Center. They truly bend over backwards to ensure graduate assistants are gaining new skills and challenging experiences related to their field of study. As for incoming graduate assistants, I advise you to take part in the professional development opportunities specifically created for GAs. The different workshops helped me take ownership of my professional growth and collaborate with others outside my department."
—Anna Ma, Counseling. Graduate Assistant, Counseling & Student Development Center (previous Graduate Assistant for Student Involvement & Leadership Development).
