Faculty/Student Academic and Research Project Criteria

Faculty/student academic and research project presentations headline the program, with the intention of stimulating immediate interest in the pursuit of collaborative learning. Faculty members and undergraduate students are urged to submit a presentation proposal to the Academic Convocation Committee by April 30, 2007, if they are currently involved in a collaborative project. Submissions from every discipline are encouraged. This opportunity is not limited to traditional science: All projects completed by July 31, 2007, are eligible for consideration.

The Academic Convocation Committee will make presentation selections based on the following:

  • A one-page proposal describing the collaborative project
  • A description of the positive student/faculty interaction that resulted from the project
  • A statement of how incoming students can become involved in undergraduate academic and/or research projects in your college
  • A list of grant funding, awards, or special recognition for the project (Lack of funding or previous awards will not eliminate projects.)
  • Student and faculty team members must be available to present (for approximately 5-10 minutes) at Academic Convocation, 11 a.m., August 24, 2007, in the Convocation Center.

Previous projects have included:
