Welcome from the Vice President

Welcome to the NIU Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.

We feel privileged to be an important part of the Huskie tradition and are proud to serve our students from admission to graduation and beyond.  As committed professionals, our goal is to provide student services and programs in the areas of enrollment/admissions, student organizations, multicultural education, leadership development, and guidance in navigating financial obligations and achieving health and fitness goals.  There are twenty-three departments within the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, all focused on student involvement and success.

This past fall, the divisional leadership took time to focus on activities that provide students with a high-impact experience.  We reviewed key programs and services and discussed strategies we could implement to encourage student involvement in co-curricular, high-impact activities such as leadership involvement, service learning, and peer mentoring.  Throughout the year, departments will continue to be challenged to review program outcome data and professional best practices to determine programs and services that should be strengthened, maintained, or discontinued.  This mindset has helped the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management stay focused on the vision and Mission of NIU to be “the premier student-centered, research-focused public university in the Midwest, contributing to the advancement of knowledge for the benefit of the people of the region, the state, the nation, and the world.”
