Phase II Planning

During the Spring 2011 semester Provost Alden solicited nominations for a Provost’s Strategic Planning Working Group. Those nominated were invited to participate and the working group first met in May of 2011.

A Strategic Planning Reporting Template was developed, and all initiatives funded under Phase I were asked to submit final reports.

Final Reports were evaluated by the Provost’s Working Group and the results were discussed at a meeting during the Fall of 2011.

In October of 2011 Provost Alden issued a call for proposals for FY12 and Beyond (Phase II). Initiatives seeking continued funding and new proposals were submitted to the Provost’s Working Group using the Strategic Planning Proposal Template. The deadline for the submission of proposals was November 7, 2011.

52 submissions were received.

Review criteria were developed by the Provost’s Working Group and served as the basis for the evaluation form.

The results of the reviews by members of the Work Group were shared and discussed at a meeting during the week of November 28, 2012.

The results of the review by the Working Group were shared with the Council of Deans during December of 2011. The recommendations of the Council of Deans were shared with the Provost and Provost Staff for final decisions on implementation.

31 initiatives were selected for support.

Notifications of recommendations were made to the appropriate administrators at the end of January of 2012.
