Implement a significantly enhanced general education program —
emphasizing its importance for all students at NIU

The three-day planning workshop the group was challenged to develop a set of General Education Goals based on the Baccalaureate
Goals of the institution. Upon further study, the group realized that the existing Baccalaureate Goals had not been reviewed since the early 1980's. Subsequently, the
focus was shifted to a review and creation of a set of Baccalaureate Goals that were stated as student learning outcomes
