Even More Physics of Football

Newton’s laws describe football players on the field just as well as carts on a track or balls rolling down ramps. Physics professor and armchair quarterback Mike Eads will discuss how an understanding of velocity, momentum, force, impulse, collisions, conservation laws, and even air resistance can lead to some interesting insights on the game.

Advancements in 3D printing are making it possible for researchers and average folks to print everything from car parts to body parts. How does additive manufacturing actually work and how is it going to change our lives? Associate professor of Mechanical Engineering, Federico Sciammarella, will talk about this and more at the November STEM Café.
