Alumni Epsilon Online Journal
In the spring of 2012 the Alumni Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta will launch the inaugural issue of the Alumni Epsilon Online Journal. Until now, members of Alumni Epsilon did not have an official Sigma Tau Delta publication outlet for their work. But no more!
Who is eligible to submit? All members of Sigma Tau Delta are members for life and become alumni upon graduation. Any Sigma Tau Delta member who is no longer classified as a student or faculty member may submit to the Alumni Epsilon Online Journal.
Submission Guidelines
Submission is open to all Sigma Tau alums. Undergraduate and graduate students currently active in a local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, Chapter Sponsors, and faculty members are not eligible to submit.
Submissions are welcome from the following categories: critical essays, creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, personal essays, op-ed columns on issues related to English, and moment-in-time pieces of one hundred words or less. Submissions must be unpublished. Only one submission from any given category will be allowed, with a maximum of two submissions total. A collection of up to three short poems or moment in time pieces will be counted as one submission. Contributors must not identify themselves in any way on any page of text.
Email submissions in .doc, .rtf, or .pdf format (no .wps, .wpd, or .docx formatted documents please) to sigmatd.ae@gmail.com with the subject line "Journal Submission(s)." Include in the body of the email the following statement: "[insert title of work] is an original work authored by me." The deadline for receiving submissions is midnight on April 15, 2012.
Document Formatting
For critical essays:
Times font, 12-point, double-spaced, and 1 inch margins on all sides, free of typographical and grammatical errors. Essays must follow the Modern Language Association style guidelines as defined in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (latest edition). Titles should be no more than four spaces down from the top of the page and centered (avoid fancy fonts, bold letters, or underlining). Submissions should not exceed 3,000 words.
For creative pieces:
Prose (fiction and non-fiction): Format submissions using Times font, 12-point, and 1 inch margins on all sides, free of typographical and grammatical errors. As much as is possible, double-space creative work. Titles should be no more than four spaces down from the top of the page and centered (avoid fancy fonts, bold letters, or underlining). Submissions should not exceed 2,500 words.
Poetry: The submission may consist of one to three poems. All poems must be contained in one document file. If you are submitting a collection of poems, create a new page for each poem within the document file. Format submissions using Times font,12-point, free of typographical and grammatical errors. Titles for the individual poem(s) should be no more than four spaces down from the top of the page and centered (avoid bold letters or underlining).
Remember, because of the potential volume of submissions, it is the author's responsibility to make sure that the document is formatted properly.

Acceptance Notification
Contributors will receive email notification by the end of February of acceptance or denial. Only following acceptance will authors of accepted submissions be asked to submit a biography to be included in the publication. The email address you use to submit will be the address at which you will be contacted for this information. The journal will be published online during the first two weeks of March.
