Officers and Regents

The Sigma Tau Delta Board Development Committee announces a call for nominations/applications for the following positions:

Vice President/President-Elect

Two-year term, 2016-2018, with subsequent service as the Society President (2018-2020), followed by a two-year term as Immediate Past President (2020-2022).

Secretary/Treasurer

Four-year term, 2016-2020, renewable

Regent

Far Western Region
Four-year term, 2016-2020, renewable

High Plains Region
Four-year term, 2016-2020, renewable

Southwestern Region
Four-year term, 2016-2020, renewable

Officer and Regent Duties

Officer and Regent applicants, at the time of election, must be a Faculty Sponsor of an active Sigma Tau Delta chapter. Regent applicants must be located within the region they seek to represent.

Candidates for all these positions should plan to attend the 2016 International Convention in Minneapolis, MN, March 2-5, 2016. Candidates for the Vice President/President-Elect and the Secretary/Treasurer positions will have the opportunity to make a brief presentation to the voting constituents at the Business Meeting. Candidates for the Regent positions will have the opportunity to make brief presentations at their Regional Caucuses prior to the election.

Nomination

Persons wishing to nominate individuals for Officer and Regent positions should send a one-page letter of nomination to Dr. William C. Johnson, Executive Director, Sigma Tau Delta, Department of English, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL 60115-2863. Be sure to include the nominee's full name, address, telephone number, and email address in the letter of nomination. Nomination letters may be attached to an email addressed to sigmatdapply@niu.edu.

Nominations/applications are due February 1, 2016.

Student Advisor Application

Student Advisor Duties

Student Advisor applicants must be Sigma Tau Delta members at a school with an active chapter and must plan on attending a school with an active chapter through the end of their elected two-year term, 2016-2018.

Candidates for the Student Advisor position will be interviewed and appointed by the Board of Directors. Individuals will assume their offices at the end of the 2016 International Convention.
