GSARP Weekend

 

Friday, March 24 - Saturday, March 25, 2017

GSARP Weekend is a 2-day program for incoming CAHE students who will be new to the CAHE program in fall 2017 and are seeking an assistantship. This program is designed to introduce participants to NIU, the Division of Student Affairs, the CAHE department. Participants are given the opportunity to interview for available graduate assistantship positions while on campus. 

Check-in for GSARP Weekend will begin Friday, March 24 at 10 a.m. and the program ends Saturday, March 25 at approximately 1:30 p.m. View the GSARP Weekend schedule.

Participants will also attend various informational sessions, a panel discussion with current graduate students, and a leadership development program. In addition, a bus tour of campus and the DeKalb community will be offered, as well as, an optional tour of Housing & Residential Services apartments. All meals will be provided.

Student Social

Participants will have an opportunity to socialize with one another and current graduate students in the laid-back atmosphere of the Huskies Den. A pizza dinner will be provided. It is recommended that participants bring comfortable clothing to change into in order to take advantage of the other activities that are available at the Huskies Den. This event is optional and free of charge.

Registration for GSARP Weekend 2017 is now closed.

Parking

On-campus parking will be free of charge for all GSARP participants. Once you are registered, you will receive a parking pass to place in your car windshield during GSARP Weekend. Parking will be available in the following lots during GSARP Weekend.

Lodging

On-campus lodging is recommended. We have two on-campus lodging options available to participants.
