The NIU Music Building houses approximately 50 employees and has high traffic for paper and other recyclable items. For the past few years, the Music Building bathrooms and copier areas have had small, poorly used trash and recycling containers. All trash containers in bathrooms on the first floor have been replaced with the new 19 gallon Slim Jim trash receptacles, which has greatly reduced the inflow of paper towels and other castoffs. The new trash receptacles have already helped to "tidy up" the Music Buildings bathrooms. New green recycling tote boxes have replaced decade old empty cardboard boxes in the Music Building library and first floor copier service areas. The new containers are stronger, more durable, and much more attractive than the previous cardboard boxes.
