Instructional Clinics
The Outdoor Adventures program offers an assortment of instructional clinics to meet the needs of the NIU community. Clinics are designed with the beginner in mind; are educational, sometimes challenging, and fun. Clinics are a great way to be introduced to a new activity and are an opportunity to maintain one's skills.
Important Information for Clinics
Registration
Minimum Participation
- Minimum participation requirements are established for all clinics.
- Clinics not reaching minimum enrollment levels will be cancelled and registration fees will be refunded.
Assumption of Risk
- Outdoor adventure has an inherent risk of injury or death.
- Recreation Services trips and activities are conducted with safety in mind, however, participants are also responsible for their own safety.
- NIU, Recreation Services, the Outing Centre, and its employees assume no liability for damages that arise during or from participation in Outdoor Adventure programs.
Refunds, Transfers, and Cancellations
- Refunds are only given for a cancelled clinic or documented medical situation.
- Registrations can be transferred to another participant by the Outdoor Adventures staff if requests are made prior to the registration deadline.
- Cancelled clinics will result in a refund being issued to the participants.
