Back again for the 3rd consecutive summer, the REAL NIU Experience Camp was a success! This year's campers were given the responsibility of choosing classes while also balancing their schedules to complete college assignments and projects. Overall, the camp was another memorable experience.
This summer's camp boasted 30 students, who were recommended by their teachers, to attend a 4-day camp at NIU. The students got a taste of college life by living in the dorms and attending classes which focused on math and science.

In March 2007, the students hosted "Empty Bowls", a dinner and presentation designed to raise awareness about hunger issues in Rockford and throughout the world. The bowls were crafted at NIU by the Club and sold to the participants. All proceeds went to Rockford Rescue Mission. The dinner, consisting of soup and bread, was rationed proportionally to the three main economic classes to demonstrate how unfair and unjust the world's supply of food is among people.
