Responsible Authorship - Dilemmas

Prestige Authorship

Dr. Emmanuel Clemson, a junior researcher at a midsize university, intends to seek funding for a proposed study investigating strategies to prevent obesity in children. Although he has previously been involved in securing funding for research endeavors, it has been as one of the members of a large research team. The current submission he is considering would be his first as the principle investigator. Dr. Clemson is concerned that his proposal might not receive a favorable review without at least one well-recognized researcher serving as a co-principal investigator.
