Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Development
Responsibilities
The Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Development is responsible for coordinating the state-mandated program review process at Northern Illinois University, working with departments to prepare program review documents and the Academic Planning Council to review the programs. The Vice Provost works with departments and other units on the development of requests for: new programs; research and public service centers; authority to offer programs at off-campus locations; and any other program or unit changes that require the approval of the Board of Trustees and the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE). The Vice Provost coordinates the program accreditation process at the university, the university's accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, and also chairs the University Assessment Panel.
