Northern Illinois University has a long history of recognizing outstanding faculty through the awarding of Presidential Professorships. These awards acknowledge excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, artistry and engagement, and result from a rigorous application process involving academic peers, students, and external partners.

Beginning with the 2015-16 academic year, all three presidential awards will share the same application schedule:

  • September 8, 2015: Call for nominations
  • October 6, 2015: Nomination deadline
  • November 10, 2015: Application deadline

*Formerly called the Presidential Research Professorship, this award has been expanded and its name changed accordingly to the Presidential Research, Scholarship, and Artistry Professorship.
