Vision 2020 Update

Colleagues,
Last fall I announced the criteria by which we will evaluate the progress of NIU's Vision 2020 Initiative, which is to set NIU on a course to becoming the most student-centered public research university in the Midwest.
Vision 2020 is the result of an extensive benchmarking effort and input from across the university community in terms of academic excellence, campus improvements and fiscal sustainability. This is OUR SHARED VISION. We hold ourselves accountable to accomplish our goals in the same way they were created…from the ground up.
Because of our shared commitment to achieving these goals, I invite you to take a moment and view the Vision 2020 update video and/or review the presentation slides with key points from the update.
Of course, the Vision 2020 website is a tremendous resource to utilize when examining this critical initiative.
Our future success hinges on the efforts of everyone working tirelessly—together, in the same direction—to build a university that is successful, adaptable and sustainable in all aspects.
Much has been accomplished, and challenges still lie ahead. While NIU has high aspirations, I am confident we will rise up and deliver upon this vision we have conceived and believe in.
