NIU will host five, one week, residential camps for a total of 170 Rockford students who will attend grades 8 to 12 in fall 2011. The purposes of these camps are to improve students’ academic performance, to introduce them to a college environment, and to build their interest in and readiness for post-secondary education. One powerful theme will be reinforced throughout the camp – students can change their futures by changing the way they think.
