***ANNOUNCEMENTS***
1. Dr. Chris Jones wins university-wide teaching award.
Congratulations to Chris Jones for winning the 2008 "Outstanding Professor" Award given by the University Honors Program. In addition to his exceptional in-class instruction, Chris was chosen based on his involvement in supervising honors theses, teaching honors overload courses (even while serving as chair!), and general commitment to the Honors program. This is yet another great award won by one of our faculty or students and is reflective of Chris's commitment to undergraduate education.
2. Graduating this May?
When you paid your graduation fee, it covers the rental of your academic regalia. You may pick up your regalia at the Convocation Center (Entrance 2 or 5) on Thursday or Friday, May 15/16, between 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
If you plan on attending both the CLAS ceremony at the Convocation Center at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, and the POLS ceremony in the HSC Sandburg Auditorium at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, be sure to bring your regalia with you to the afternoon ceremony. The Convocation Center staff has been informed that POLS students have been granted permission to do so.
Also, if you do not plan on attending the 9 a.m. ceremony in the Convo Center, you may go to the Records & Registration Graduation Evaluations Office in Williston 220 to receive your diploma cover. Due to postage expenses, they will not be mailing them out at a later date. For any questions about graduation, please email Ms. Karen Schweitzer (karens@niu.edu).
