Geoff Rogal Wins Teaching Award

Political Science doctoral student, Geoff Rogal, has been selected to receive one of NIU's Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant awards for 2009 in recognition of his teaching contributions to the department. The chair of the selection committee writes, "The award review committee met recently and reviewed all the nominations for the award and the committee was very impressed with the nomination letter and supporting documents submitted by Geoff's nominator Dr. Matthew Streb."

If you wish to attend, the award will be presented on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 during the Graduate Student Recognition Reception sponsored by the Graduate School from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in HSC Ballroom. The award presentation should be around 3:30 pm.

The Department has had great success within this annual competition, with one of our graduate assistants being recognized five out of the six years that this award has existed. In addition to Geoff, past POLS recipients include Adiana Crocker, Chris Whidden, Jason Jividen, and Mazen Nagi.

Congratulations to Geoff on this excellent recognition!
