Application Process

Part 1 - Proposal

Proposal

  • You submit proposal for engaged learning experience prior to beginning or during the experience*
  • Mentor/supervisor receives email with link to proposal*

Decision

  • Mentor/supervisor reviews proposal and then submits approval or denial*
Approved Proposal

Milestone is created in your degree audit that shows as "in progress".

You will receive an email to proceed or continue engaged learning experience.

Denied Proposal

You will receive an email advising you to review denial notes and resubmit proposal. 

*Human Diversity Requirement

You can use EngagePLUS to satisfy the Human Diversity (HD) requirement alone or in conjunction with an EngagePLUS transcript notation. 

All proposals that are intended to satisfy the HD requirement must be submitted prior to the start of the semester.

All proposals and reflections that are intended to satisfy the HD requirement will be reviewed by college equity teams or the Committee for Multicultural Curriculum Transformation (CMCT), depending on the details of the experience, in addition to the mentor/supervisor. 

Part 2 - Reflection

Reflection

  • You submit reflection within four weeks of the end of the semester in which the experience is concluded**
  • Mentor/supervisor receives email with link to reflection*

Decision

  • mentor/supervisor reviews reflection and then submits approval or denial*
Approved Reflection

Milestone is created in your degree audit that shows as "complete".

You will receive an email confirming EngagePLUS notation and/or satisfaction of Human Diversity requirement. 

Denied Reflection

You will receive an email informing you of the petition process should you choose to contest the decision. 

**Graduating Seniors

If you are a graduating senior who intends to apply for EngagePLUS notations and/or to satisfy the Human Diversity requirement, you must submit your reflection two weeks prior to graduation or earlier. 

Reflections that are submitted after this point may not be approved.
