Graduate Recruitment Committee
The graduate recruitment committee works with the director of graduate
studies to identify promising students to recruit for the graduate
program. The committee has a member from each of the four areas of the
graduate program, HEP, Beams, Condensed Matter and Physics Education.
The representatives from each area should look at the applications from
graduate students in this area and consult with other faculty in their
area to bring their attention to promising students. The committee
should both advise the DGS on the suitability of students for admission and make recommendations to the DGS as to which students should be considered for fellowships. Members of the committee should also
contact promising local students and encourage them to come for campus
visits.
