Requirements for a Major in Philosophy (B.A. or B.S.)
The major requirements depend on your catalog year. Your catalog year is determined by the first semester of your enrollment at NIU, unless you officially selected a later catalog by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org from your NIU email account. For example, if you first enrolled at NIU in Fall 2011 or Spring 2012, your catalog year is 2011-2012. If you are unsure of your catalog year, you can check in MyNIU by selecting Degree Progress Report then requesting an Advising Report. Scroll down until you get to Philosophy Plan, then look for a line that says "MAJOR REQUIREMENTS [YEAR]-[YEAR] CATALOG." The academic year in that line is your catalog year. For major requirements in past catalog years, see the Undegraduate Catalog page.
