Articles on electronic reserves
This course will introduce students to the main Western and Eastern ethical theories which will later be used to analyze some contemporary moral concerns and possible answers to them. Such concerns will cover but will not be limited to the following: capital punishment, economic justice, gun and substance control, the status of animals and the environment, liberty and its limits, war and terrorism.
Lecture and discussions. The final grade will be based on several in-class tests (short answer and essays) and a series of journal entries.
